This is how you 'might' see me in the new, Universal Motion Picture "Serenity" coming September 30, 2005 to a theater
near you! Hopefully I don't end up on the cutting room floor, right? I'm not wearing the kimono in the movie, so keep an eye
on the hair...no one else was lucky enough to wear that!!
Joss Whedon has done it again! Taking his ill-fated, ended too soon TV show "Firefly" and flown off to new nesting grounds
at Universal. He and Chris Buchanan, being the BDH's they are, allowed, nay, invited fans (Browncoats) to come play with
them as 'extras' on the set.
I was one of the lucky few able to do it.
UPDATE!!!
I've seen the movie! TWICE! It has been a wacky year...but I've seen the movie, first in the 'test screening' version,
then again when nearly complete. What a ride!
I won't give any spoilers, but I did manage to see my daughter Gingi (Coffeewench) on the big screen! YAY! Some
folks have said they saw me, but I'm always looking for my kid, so I miss me! Can't wait for the DVD.
What is a Browncoat?
In Serenity, Browncoats are Independent Faction soldiers, a body opposed to the AngloSino Alliance in the Unification War.
Defeated at Serenity Valley on Hera in 2511, Browncoats are forced to live as galactic outcasts. A small band of them skim
the outskirts of the galaxy unnoticed until they find themselves caught between the unstoppable military force of the Universal
Alliance and the horrific, cannibalistic fury of the Reavers, savages who roam the very edge of space.
Captain Malcolm Reynolds is a hardened veteran on the losing side of a galactic civil war, who now ekes out a living pulling
off small crimes and transport-for-hire aboard his ship, Serenity. He leads a small, eclectic crew who are the closest thing
he has left to family - squabbling, insubordinate and undyingly loyal. Mal takes on two new passengers-a young doctor and
his unstable, telepathic sister, and gets much more than he bargained for. The pair are fugitives from the coalition dominating
the universe, who will stop at nothing to reclaim the telepathic sister.
